How often is the Directory Printed / Updated ?

The Directory is updated throughout the year as required. In November / December of each year it is completely revised and checked for changes prior to publication in January. In addition during the year it is updated and in most years has a limited partly revised edition printed mid year. The on-line version at www.gpbook.com.au is the most current comprehensive medical database available in Western Australia

Is there an electronic version of the Directory?

The Directory has partnered with GPbook WA to provide a subscription online web version of the directory as well as the paper version - www.gpbook.com.au.

Is there an electronic version that can be imported into my Medical Software?

At this time there is no electronic version that can be imported into medical software due to the large number of different software platforms with consequent incompatibilities and unreliability. The on-line version www.gpbook.com.au is however up-to-date , searchable and has the medical detail not found in other online sites.

How is the Directory funded ?

The Directory is funded entirely from user subscriptions in the form of sale of printed copies and subscription to the online site.  The Directory is not funded by advertising  or promotional material that may bias the information provided.

Can Non-Specialists be listed in the Directory ?

In general entries are reserved for Specialists registered by AHPRA.  Some non specialists are listed. These individuals have appropriate specialist or sub-specialist training, certification or accreditation and who are able to demonstrate they are working as a de-facto specialist (not a general practitioner sub-specialist) in an area of special need or location which is not otherwise served by appropriate qualified specialists.
